In this exclusive interview with Kayizzi Godwin (Kampala, Uganda) of Feeding Villages, Teo Antulume Nakiyingi, the village health leader in Nangunga, Uganda, speaks about her experiences and observations related to food, water, nutrition, health, and other challenges related to daily living.

The picture that Teo paints is a real portrait of how basic necessities are often very difficult to come by in Nangunga. Villagers struggle each day to procure clean water, nutritious food, proper sanitation, educational opportunities for young children, and food assistance for child-bearing women. She offers her ideas and suggestions as to where Feeding Villages can help. She is a respected and valued member of the community.

Feeding Villages works with leaders in the community, like Teo, to get a better sense of the direct needs of the people. These working relationships that Feeding Villages develops encourages and empowers members of the community to improve themselves from within and offer their insights which are instrumental in the growth and prosperity of their communities.

Hyder founded Feeding Villages after traveling to Kampala, Uganda and seeing first hand the hunger and malnutrition plaguing remote villages. He works to ensure the mission of Feeding Villages is carried out. Specifically, he enjoys building relationships with donors and companies that share the same mission as Feeding Villages. He holds a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
