our story

How Feeding Villages Started

Feeding Villages was founded in 2018 when I visited for the first time my mother’s birth country and childhood home of Uganda. My mother, Rashida, had not been back to Uganda since she and her family were forcibly expelled from Uganda and made refugees in 1972.

During our visit, we spent quite a bit of time on the road in and around Kampala. While exploring the location, we visited one village called Nangunga.  It’s a lovely, scenic village tucked away on the lush slopes of Eastern Uganda. However, in the shadow of this beauty were many families struggling with a lack of basic necessities like food and water.

This display of need coupled with the warm personalities of the villagers could not go unnoticed. We wanted to give back in some way. That’s how Feeding Villages began.

Feeding Villages believes in providing nutritious, balanced meals and access to clean water to vulnerable people in remote areas in Uganda.

Your generous support enables Feeding Villages to continue their valuable work to feed impoverished families in remote villages in Uganda. We look forward to working with you.”
